About Us

Jim's career in the financial services industry has spanned over 20 years. His primary focus is on retirement income planning and structuring benefits to decrease expenses and maximize income for the future. Jim is also an expert in Federal benefits and has assisted hundreds of Federal employees in gaining a better understanding of their Federal entitlements and planning for a stress-free retirement through his seminars, one-on-one consultations, and his latest book, The Informed Fed.

As a speaker and published author on various retirement income topics, both for the private sector and federal employees, Jim stresses the importance of financial education. At the core of his philosophy and business approach is the belief that "retirement money should not be put at risk." 

Jim founded Benefit Services Group in 2006 to offer a variety of financial service products to his clients. He is A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau and takes a personal interest in every client's circumstances. Testimonials and references are readily available upon request. 

Jim is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a Master's Degree from the College of Notre Dame. He and his wife Carol reside in Star, Idaho. His interests include sandy beaches, tropical sunsets, baseball, Native American history, politics, good wine, and Michael Connelly novels. In his spare time, Jim can often be found paddle-boarding, hiking, and mountain biking.
